The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Variable Hours Officer (VHO) will provide transitional support and subject matter expertise during the onboarding of the new Program Administrator for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology's Medical Education programs. This temporary, part-time role ensures the continued operational integrity of the department's ACGME-accredited and non-accredited training programs while preserving institutional knowledge. The VHO will assist with knowledge transfer, provide training to education staff, and support critical compliance and accreditation-related processes. The VHO will report to the Vice Chair for Education and Department Administrator. The position will not exceed 20 hours per week.


Responsibilities

  • Transfer institutional knowledge and documentation related to ACGME compliance, program accreditation cycles, and departmental best practices.
  • Identify and document critical workflows, annual timelines, and regulatory deadlines to ensure continuity.
  • Provide training and support on systems and internal databases.
  • Oversee education division staff on compliance procedures, recruitment workflows, and event planning until a Program Administrator is onboarded.
  • Assist in preparing for upcoming ACGME and institutional deadlines, including site visits and data submissions.
  • Advise on policy updates, milestone tracking, and evaluation reports.
  • Provide consultative support on event planning (e.g., orientation, graduation), budget tracking, and vendor coordination.
  • Serve as a temporary liaison between the department and GME office on legacy issues or ongoing compliance concerns.
  • Attend meetings when necessary to support handoff and documentation of ongoing projects.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience; Masters preferred.
