The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Projects, the Strategic Projects Coordinator will provide administrative and logistical planning support for initiatives and projects assigned to the team, spanning across the Finance and Administration department, and the Climate School


Responsibilities

  • Provides planning, operational, administrative, and logistical support for various internal meetings and events, programming, and professional development activities.
  • Assists with researching new spaces, vendors, and service providers.
  • Supports vendor engagements, including drafting scopes of work, processing vendor profiles, sending purchasing requests, and managing closeout payments.
  • Collaborates with central teams to collect updates for the school’s intranet and completes timely site updates. 
  • Creates and updates administrative process documents and resources using M365, Canva, and others as needed.
  • Helps with maintaining team databases, contact lists, and work plans to ensure tracking of milestones and metrics for special projects and initiatives.
  • Serves as a thought partner to suggest processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness for active projects.
  • Supports with drafting internal and external communications, including but not limited to internal newsletters, meeting agendas, project updates, presentation materials, talking points, and others as appropriate for assigned projects.
  • Attends meetings for respective projects as deemed necessary. 
  • Successfully conducts follow-up for assigned tasks and projects.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience. Minimum of 2 years of project, administrative, or operational task management-related experience required.
  • Candidate should have an interest or familiarity with administrative roles, and approach work with a willingness to take initiative and tackle challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with a variety of stakeholders, including members of the public are essential. 
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, and availability for in-person meetings at the Morningside, Manhattanville, and Lamont campuses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent analytic and research skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and administrative processes. 
  • Highly effective organizational skills.
  • Thorough proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Demonstrated interest in climate, sustainability and/or Earth science education. 
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
