Position Summary

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is looking to hire a Technician B to work in the laboratory of Dr. Symington. The candidate will be technical support staff for the Principal Investigator and other lab investigators, as needed.

Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:  

• Assist with general lab management tasks including keeping track of, organizing, and ordering supplies and organizing equipment maintenance, as needed.
• Preparation of growth media and stock solutions for lab personnel.
• Perform molecular genetic experiments, including genomic DNA isolation, yeast transformation, plasmid construction and PCR genotyping to assist members of the laboratory.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
