Position Summary
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is looking to hire a Technician B to work in the laboratory of Dr. Ryan Gaudet. The candidate will be technical support staff for the Principal Investigator and other lab investigators, as needed.
Responsibilities
We are a new lab that seeks to understand how tissues coordinate with the immune system to defend against pathogens. These studies are critical to understand the molecular basis of immunity at sites of infection and define the potentially devastating consequences of their failure during disease. The pathways we discover will support the design of next generation of antibiotics and vaccines that target specific organ systems rather than the immune system as a whole. We work with cell culture systems, animal models, and fresh human tissue samples obtained from organ donors in collaboration with Dr. Donna Farber as part of a novel initiative in Human Tissue Immunity and Disease.
