The Kizil Laboratory at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks an exceptionally motivated Technician B to join a research program focused on the functional interpretation of human genetic variation in Alzheimer’s disease using advanced zebrafish models. Our work integrates human genetics, neurobiology, and in vivo functional approaches to dissect mechanisms of disease risk and resilience. We develop precision-engineered zebrafish lines carrying variants derived from large-scale human genetic cohorts and use these models to uncover early pathogenic mechanisms and enable discovery-oriented screening strategies.
This position is ideal for candidates seeking rigorous, hands-on training in experimental neurogenetics within a highly productive and intellectually demanding research environment. The laboratory maintains a strong portfolio of high-impact publications and emphasizes technical excellence, independence, and scientific curiosity.
