Position Summary

The Department of Ophthalmology has multiple vacancies in one of our laboratories. The candidates will conduct and assist with research with the opportunity to develop and implement independent research projects. These projects will include molecular, cell biological, and tissue culture. 


Responsibilities

  • CRISPR genome engineering of patient's specific stem cells
  • Maintain lab supplies
  • Preparing reagents
  • Assisting with carrying out of standard lab procedures and protocols
  • Keeping up-to-date records on projects, invoices, orders, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program.
  • One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/or experience
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience genotyping is required.  
  • Six months of experience in cell culture and genotyping is desirable, but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks/projects at once.
