The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Real Estate Billing,  the Senior Analyst independently manages assigned billing activities for the University’s residential and commercial real estate portfolio, including approximately 2,000 residential and 120 commercial tenants with annual billing volumes of approximately $3.8 million and $2 million, respectively applying lease terms, billing procedures, and sound judgment to ensure accurate and timely account administration. The role resolves complex Tier 2 billing escalations, identifies account discrepancies and root causes, recommends corrective actions, and supports the implementation of billing process improvements. The Senior Analyst coordinates multiple billing workstreams with competing deadlines and serves as a knowledgeable resource to internal partners on billing procedures, account maintenance, and issue resolution.

 

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Executes monthly billing cycles, reviews billing data for accuracy, identifies trends or exceptions, and recommends corrective actions to management.
  • Interprets lease terms and applies billing judgment to resolve complex account issues, adjustments, refunds, and closeouts.
  • Maintains tenant account data, including lease setup, renewals, and amendments
  • Processes cash receipts (ACH, lockbox, and online payments) and applies them to tenant accounts
  • Processes billing adjustments, refunds, and account closeouts
  • Monitors delinquent accounts and supports collections follow-up
  • Maintains required regulatory data (e.g., SCRIE) and supports reporting, audit, and compliance activities
  • Investigates and resolves Tier 2 escalations from the Finance Service Desk and determines appropriate corrective action within established policy
  • Ensures accuracy and integrity of transactional data within billing systems
  • Serves as a resource to other staff, departments, or the Finance Service Desk on billing procedures and account resolution
  • Participates in workflow development or implementation, including documenting procedures, improving controls, testing system/process changes, or helping implement new billing practices
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned

 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or equivalent related experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant billing, accounts receivable, or financial operations experience required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

  • Must demonstrate sound judgment and commitment to customer service excellence.
