Position Summary

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Process tissue samples from preclinical animal models and patients, including cryopreservation, cell fractionation (FACS/MACS), and extraction of nucleic acids and proteins.
• Prepare and maintain basic dry and wet chemicals and other common laboratory reagents.
• Perform conventional PCR and quantitative RT-PCR.
• Conduct immunoblotting and related assays.
• Maintain cell lines and primary cells in tissue culture.
• Execute in vitro therapeutic studies, including proliferation and metabolic luminescence assays.
• Perform fluorescence- and magnetic-activated cell sorting (FACS and MACS).
• Generate high-throughput single-cell sequencing libraries from DNA and RNA specimens.
• Manage mouse colonies.
• Conduct high-content imaging and multiplexed immunofluorescence imaging using specialized equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of laboratory work and communicate results via shared electronic platforms.
• Share responsibility for operation and maintenance of common laboratory equipment.
• Order reagents and supplies based on lab needs and member requests.
• Assign routine lab tasks and equipment maintenance responsibilities to team members.
• Monitor compliance with Environmental Health and Safety standards and lab-specific SOPs.
• Participate in regular meetings with Dr. Izar and the grants management office to review lab operations.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
• Strong communication skills, including timely responses during business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in microscopy, genomics, and computational analyses is preferred but not required if willing to learn.
