Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for a full-time Senior Research Technician position at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Ben Izar Laboratory. Our research focuses on the interactions between immunity and cancer evolution, metastasis, and drug resistance.
The lab employs cutting-edge technologies, including single-cell genomics, integrated CRISPR screens with single-cell readouts, and highly multiplexed imaging. We work with patient-derived cancer tissue, cell line models, and mouse models of cancer biology and immunotherapy, while continuing to develop novel technologies. Our ultimate goal is to improve the lives of cancer patients through innovation.
The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Izar to maintain an efficient laboratory environment, conduct experiments, collaborate with other lab members, and engage with research teams across the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) and the broader Columbia University Medical Center community.
Candidates are not expected to have prior experience in all listed techniques; however, competitive applicants will demonstrate eagerness to learn, flexibility, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.
