Position Summary
Columbia University Department of OB/GYN is seeking an experienced Senior Patient Care coordinator to support Reproductive Genetics. Members of Women’s Genetics at Columbia have been at the forefront of discovery and implementation of reproductive genetics. Women’s Genetics includes a team of genetic counselors, MFM-Geneticist, and genetic counseling assistant led by a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist/Geneticist, a research genetic counselor manager, and a clinical genetic counselor manager. This role reports to the clinical genetic counselor manager.
We are seeking a senior patient care coordinator who is able to function independently in a fast-paced environment working with a diverse and high-risk patient population and broad range of referring providers from New York Presbyterian Hospital, CUIMC, and the surrounding communities. They should have a special interest in reproductive health care with knowledge of genetics or a desire to learn prenatal genetics. In addition, this role involves working with GynOnc care coordinators for GYN cancer genetic counseling services. The care coordinator will also work closely with the Women’s Genetic Center (WGC), our partnership for prenatal genome sequencing. As an academic institution, Columbia’s Department of OB/GYN is involved in cutting edge research and we expect all staff to support and facilitate this mission following "Good Clinical Practice" guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines. The coordinator will participate in administrative tasks relevant to research projects in Reproductive Genetics.
