Clinical Trials Office
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Contracts (the “Director”) of the Clinical Trials Office (the “CTO”) of Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons (“VP&S”). The Senior Contract Specialist will administer agreements (such as clinical trials, research services, and confidentiality agreements) from inception through termination, which includes, but is not limited to, negotiation, providing consultation & advice, which will best meet the needs of the research community at VP&S. One of the main objectives of this position is to have the necessary skill set to support the contracting processes.
The CTO assists investigators and academic/research staff in developing clinical trials at VP&S and provides administrative resources and infrastructure to build and sustain clinical trials and clinical research at VP&S. The successful candidate will work with Sponsors in negotiating contracts for clinical trials in accordance with all applicable regulatory and legal requirements and institutional policies and procedures.

Act as part of the Contracts Team, to independently manage various agreement types from initiation to completion in a timely, efficient, and thorough manner. Partners with Licensing Officers to ensure proper execution of agreements. The Senior Contracts Officers will report to the AVP & Senior Director of Contracts and Compliance for CTV, as well as work closely with the Senior Director, Agreement Review and Execution of Contracts & Compliance and members of the Contracts team, and will receive ongoing coaching in contract interpretation and negotiation. The Senior Contracts Officers will also receive exposure to the full breadth of Columbia’s intellectual property, as part of working on these agreements. |
| Building Engineering Manager | Columbia University Medical Center | CUIMC Facilities | The Building Engineering Manager (BEM) is responsible for overall engineering and operational management of a residential campus housing portfolio consisting of seven high-rise student apartment buildings totaling approximately 1,400 beds. This position provides leadership, planning, and direction for building systems, infrastructure, maintenance programs, and vendor management to ensure safe, reliable, and comfortable living environments for students and office staff. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the BEM oversees the Plant Superintendent as well as a team of skilled union trades personnel, the Resident Manager, and works collaboratively with other Facilities departments to maintain operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and high levels of customer service. |
