The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Senior Analyst, Building Compliance ensures the safety and compliance of all Academic, Residential, and Commercial properties within the university. This role involves a proactive approach to maintaining ongoing compliance and safety across all university properties.


Responsibilities

  • Propose and assist with training for staff and stakeholders on compliance procedures and best practices.
  • Provide feedback to staff and stakeholders regarding compliance performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to develop initiatives that optimize resources and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Create ad hoc queries and reports from relevant data sources to support staff in processing inspection reports on time.
  • Manage and update all building records to ensure they reflect current conditions. 
  • Maintains detailed and accurate records of all inspections and any violations found.
  • Manages electronic databases for all compliance activities, ensuring data is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Handle recurring regulatory filings and permits, such as Place of Assembly and Certificate of Occupancy, to ensure all buildings are legally compliant.
  • Oversees the renewal of permits and the deactivation of unused equipment to ensure all records are current.
  • Responsible for supervising the Building Compliance Coordinator.
  • Conduct routine walk-throughs of buildings to identify potential compliance issues before they become significant problems.
  • Document findings and recommend corrective actions to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory standards. 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or a minimum of five years of related experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with city agencies and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in using electronic databases for tracking compliance activities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to resolve compliance issues.
