Position Summary

The Institute of Human Nutrition is seeking a part-time Research Associate to join the Chang Lab, and participate in research, which includes studies on cell-lipid particle interaction, regulation of lipid metabolism and transport, and lipid-associated immune cell responses and biology.

This is a 6-8 month temporary position.


Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the PI, activities will include hands-on bench experimentation in both cell culture and animal works. The incumbent will also participate in lab meetings, seminars and workshops. The candidate will thoroughly document all results and technical reports of studies to support the development of standard operating procedures and guidelines, as well as assist with data analysis for preparation of manuscript and grant proposals. The Research Associate will also perform other duties necessary to the functioning of the lab, such as inventory, ordering supplies, renewing equipment contracts, and lab set up.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience with standard biochemical assays, animal care and use, utilization of radioisotopes
  • Experience working with lab animals and lab procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
