Position Summary

The Department of Sociomedical Sciences (SMS) at the Mailman School of Public Health is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator/Communications to join the Energy, Equity, Housing and Health (E2H2) Program led by Dr. Diana Hernandez. E2H2 seeks to advance research on social and environmental determinants of health through the prisms of social science, social justice, public health and strategic science.
 
The Project Coordinator will create short and long form media content using data collected by the E2H2 team to be distributed to a wide array of audiences including the lay public, political figures, and academics among others. The coordinator will play a critical role in the dissemination of study findings that align with the program’s key mission to deliver not only identify strategies that can support vulnerable populations in achieving energy security but also implement and incite change towards this goal. This will also include data collection in the field with travel expected throughout New York City to conduct quantitative and qualitative assessments.

Responsibilities

Conduct field-based interviewing/videography and related field research activities (35%)

Lead and coordinate video editing of both short and long form media content and supervise junior content editors in producing and disseminating material (30%)
 
Lead and coordinate message development, writing, editing and translation of research material for various audiences, especially policy and lay audiences (20%)
 
Manage social media accounts including Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, Threads, etc (10%)
 
Conduct additional tasks as assigned by the PI (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience


Preferred Qualifications

Photography/Videography skills and editing using various software

Strong written and oral communication skills
 
Ability to work independently and display initiative within a team environment
 
Oral and written communication in Spanish
