Position Summary

Under general direction, the Porter is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Columbia University apartment buildings and the grounds area.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintenance of building and grounds complex: elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms.
• Trimming trees and shrubs, and lawn maintenance.
• Sweeps and hoses sidewalks.
• Removes snow and spreads salt as needed.
• Heavy lifting may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance is a plus.
