Position Summary

The casual appointment will support a National Institutes of Health–funded study investigating bilingualism in individuals with and without epilepsy, ages 16 through 85. In this role, the casual employee will train and support the Technician B on cognitive testing, data collection, and related administrative duties.


Responsibilities

The casual employee will provide hands-on training, guidance, and support to the new hire in carrying out the following responsibilities:

  • Recruiting research participants
  • Administering and scoring neuropsychological tests in both English and Spanish
  • Observing and assisting with cortical language mapping in patients who require brain surgery for clinical care
  • Data entry
  • Database management
  • Other duties as assigned

This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, good organizational abilities, and excellent attention to detail in order to effectively train and support the incoming staff member.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
