The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The MS Program Assistant provides comprehensive support to the Institute of Human Nutrition’s Master of Science (MS) Program and assists with general IHN administrative initiatives. This position plays a key role in facilitating student engagement, academic program operations, and departmental communications. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced academic environment.
Responsibilities

- Coordinate all aspects of MS Student Representatives, including supervision of Student Representative Committees
- Post announcements and updates to students as requested
- Respond to student questions and requests for information
- Provide exam proctoring support as needed
- Collaborate with program leadership and staff to plan, coordinate, and execute student events, including orientation, commencement, class day ceremony, and career-related events
- Support the review and revision of MS Program student documents (e.g., Student Handbook, Honor Code)
- Assist with the yearly archiving and review of MS program course materials
- Support recruitment efforts for prospective IHN MS students
IHN Administrative Support:
- Assist the IHN Director with planning, scheduling, and coordination as needed
- Support the planning and execution of IHN events (e.g., monthly Seminar Series)
- Contribute to the planning, design, and posting of social media content
- Perform related administrative duties as assigned or requested
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfort with digital platforms such as Canvas, Zoom, and social media tools
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students
- Ability to work well with a team and independently
- Effective communication/presentation skills
- Ability to establish realistic and achievable priorities to achieve Institute goals and objectives
- Demonstrates ability to be innovative and to take initiative in a range of tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a science-related area
- Experience supporting academic or higher education programs
- Experience with design or communications tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite, MailChimp)
- Familiar with CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Element451)
