The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Director of Enrichment Services, Well-Being (DESWB) is responsible for the development and management of the Athletic Department’s well-being support services, programming, education, and resources. The DESWB is responsible for ensuring student-athletes with identified well-being needs are connected to the appropriate resources and for providing holistic well-being services, education, programming, and resources to support student-athlete well-being, transitions, and development. The DESWB is responsible for the education, coordination of needed training, and communication of counseling and psychological services processes, resources, and services to student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Additionally, the DESWB serves as a liaison with various health services campus agencies to communicate available resources to coaches, student-athletes, and staff. Other responsibilities include managing and supporting student-athlete leadership groups (i.e., SAAC, student-athlete affinity groups), assisting with Success Through Well-Being programming, resources, and initiatives, and serving as a resource to coaches, student-athletes, and staff.

Success Through Well-Being includes the areas of Columbia Athletics Enrichment Services and Championship Performance. Enrichment Services includes NCAA academic progress, academic enhancement programming, academic support advising, tutoring, career development, and well-being. Championship Performance includes mental performance and sports nutrition.

Evenings and weekends may be required.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure student-athletes with identified well-being needs (i.e., well-being concerns, injuries, financial) are connected to the appropriate resources. Provide referrals to campus resources on an individual basis. Serve as a resource to coaches, student-athletes, and staff. Support with NCAA Student Assistance Funds (SAAF, SAOF).
  • Provide holistic well-being services, education, programming, and resources to support student-athlete well-being, transitions, and development (as required by Department, University, NCAA, and NY State)
  • Responsible for education, coordinating needed training, and communication of counseling and psychological services processes, resources, and services to student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Serve as a liaison with various health services campus agencies to communicate available resources to student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Manage and support student-athlete leadership groups and budgets (i.e., SAAC, student-athlete affinity groups)
  • Assist the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Success Through Well-Being, Associate Athletics Director for Success Through Well-Being, and the team with developing and delivering Success Through Well-Being programming, resources, and initiatives.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of related experience and/or education is required.
  • Must clearly demonstrate the following competencies and qualities:
    • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
    • Interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, alumni, and the general public.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and/or doctoral degree preferred.
  • Experience in athletics administration, NCAA Division I.
