Position Summary

Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is seeking a Full-time Temporary Associate Project Manager specializing in Web Design & Development. This 6-month hybrid role will focus supporting Columbia’s digital platforms, including the main Drupal 10 site, Columbia Sites, and custom WordPress builds. The Associate Project Manager will function as a part-time "website owner," collaborating with the Web Content Strategist to meet the increasing technical and maintenance demands, particularly during platform migrations. This role will be responsible for supporting departmental migrations, with a focus on enhancing and maintaining Columbia Engineering’s digital presence. This is a full-time, temporary position aimed at supporting the ongoing digital needs of Columbia Engineering during a critical phase of website migration and ongoing platform development.

Responsibilities

Migration Management (35%):

• Support the migration of Engineering Department websites from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10.
• Help the team troubleshoot basic issues during the migration process.
• Support updates to site structure and navigation to improve usability.
• Help test pages, update links, and prepare sites for launch.

Website Maintenance & Operations ( 35%):

• Help update websites with new stories and homepage content.
• Assist with keeping event pages and smaller websites (like the magazine) up to date.
• Make sure pages follow branding guidelines and are accurate across different sites

Development Support (15%):

• Assist with user testing and gather feedback for design and functionality improvements.
• Ensure digital assets are optimized for usability and accessibility.

Department Support (10%) 

• Help to advise academic departments on usability and accessibility best practices.
• Ensure a seamless user experience across all Engineering websites.

(5%) Perform related duties as assigned to meet evolving operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 0-2 years of related experience.
• Expertise in Drupal and WordPress platforms.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and responsive web design.
• Demonstrated experience with website management and content updates.
• Familiarity with website accessibility standards and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in information architecture and content migration projects.
• Knowledge of UX/UI principles and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite).
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana).
• Strong organizational and analytical skills for tracking website performance and driving improvements.
