Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Curriculum and Programs and working closely with the Senior Vice Dean, the incumbent will set the strategic direction and oversee the evolution of the Samberg Institute for Teaching Excellence. The role is responsible for advancing instructional excellence at CBS through three core functional areas: programs, which encompasses building and running exceptional programming at scale for educator development; products, which drives the development and scaling of instructional tools, digital learning resources, and AI-enabled platforms; and coaching, which establishes the infrastructure and standards that govern how instructional coaching is delivered across the School.
The individual will position Samberg as the School's central engine for teaching innovation, AI-enabled learning, and scalable faculty development infrastructure, ensuring that pedagogy, technology, and program delivery are integrated to enhance student learning outcomes across all modalities.

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Institutional Direction
Set and execute the strategic vision for Samberg, aligning instructional programming, product development, and faculty development infrastructure with CBS academic priorities
Partner with the Senior Vice Dean and faculty leadership to define and advance teaching excellence at the institutional level
Establish clear priorities, success metrics, and accountability frameworks across all Samberg initiatives
Serve as the senior institutional voice on instructional excellence, AI-enabled pedagogy, and the future of teaching at CBS
Faculty Development Programming
Oversee the design, governance, and continuous evolution of CBS faculty development programming, including new faculty orientation, onboarding, and ongoing engagement
Establish frameworks and standards for program delivery across all faculty populations, full-time, adjunct, and visiting faculty
Drive the strategic development of learning communities, teaching forums, and faculty engagement initiatives that advance a culture of instructional excellence
Ensure alignment between faculty development programming and CBS's broader academic and curricular priorities
Oversee faculty-facing communications including newsletters and engagement touchpoints that support program visibility and adoption
Instructional Products Development and Integration
Lead the development and scaling of instructional products including CaseWorks enhancements, digital learning tools, AI-enabled platforms, and faculty-facing resources
Oversee the integration and scaling of educational technologies that enhance teaching and learning, including AI-driven tools such as CAiSEY
Establish frameworks for the responsible and effective use of AI in the classroom, balancing innovation with academic integrity
Partner with faculty and internal teams to pilot, evaluate, and expand innovative learning platforms that improve student preparation, engagement, and participation
Drive the productization of instructional content, toolkits, and frameworks that enable consistent teaching quality across CBS at scale
Identify opportunities to leverage technology to support diverse learning styles and improve accessibility
Coaching Infrastructure and Standards
Establish the overarching coaching infrastructure and standards that govern how faculty coaching is delivered across CBS
Define coaching frameworks, protocols, and quality benchmarks that guide the work of instructional coaching staff
Oversee the effectiveness and continuous improvement of CBS's instructional coaching function at a systems level, without direct coaching delivery
Ensure coaching resources are aligned with faculty development priorities and institutional goals
Measure the impact of coaching programs and use data to drive refinement and scalability
Data, Evaluation, and Continuous Improvement
Establish and oversee data-driven approaches to assess teaching effectiveness and faculty development needs across all three functional areas
Utilize course evaluations, faculty feedback, and program data to inform strategy and improve offerings
Provide reporting and insights to academic leadership to support institutional decision-making
Drive continuous improvement across programs, products, and coaching systems
Team Leadership and Operational Management
Utilize course evaluations, faculty feedback, and program data to inform strategy and improve offerings
Measure impact of Samberg initiatives and drive continuous improvement
Provide reporting and insights to academic leadership to support decision-making
External Engagement and Thought Leadership
Represent CBS in conversations on teaching and learning innovation, including AI in education and the future of the case method
Engage with external partners, peer institutions, and research communities to identify emerging trends and best practices
Contribute to the broader dialogue on instructional excellence and educational innovation
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum 7 year’s leadership experience, and demonstrated ability to motivate teams.
Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Ability to think strategically, work independently, and follow through on details.
Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and demonstrated presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or graduate degree in an education-related field.
Basic understanding of core subjects in the MBA curriculum – accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, and operations. Experience in education, especially work at professional schools in a higher education setting.
Professional experience and interest in teaching and academics, ideally in instructional design.
