The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Senior Data Manager will work closely with Dr. Caceres, the Principal Investigator, at the School of Nursing on a federally funded project focused on the influence of daily stressors on blood pressure among adults.


This is a grant-funded position and employment is contingent upon continued funding.


Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Data Manager will include:

  • Maintaining database security, storage, management and cleaning;
  • Ensuring that high quality data and the integrity of the data are protected;
  • Developing and refining REDCap data collection;
  • Cleaning and processing self-reported survey, blood pressure monitoring, biomarker, and actigraphy data;
  • Upgrading of electronic database systems to meet the needs of the research team;
  • Processing data and preparing reports on data completion and enrollment, including presenting data in charts, graphs, and tables;
  • Assisting with dissemination including the development of original abstracts and manuscripts;
  • Managing the secure transfer of research-related data by developing processes for the efficient, secure transfer of encrypted data and de-identifying data that will be transferred to federal agencies and other research teams;
  • Ensuring compliance with all data security requirements by working with Columbia Nursing administrative staff to create processes for monitoring compliance with Data Use Agreements;
  • Supporting the team in implementing our Data Management and Sharing Plan;
    • Supporting students and trainees in the cleaning and analysis of data for dissemination activities;
    • Training and supervising students and other staff in data management;
  • Performing other responsibilities as needed and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in education & experience, plus 4 years of experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data management
  • Related experience in technology, information management, relational database management, data mining, or statistics, including programming, managing and maintaining data systems.
  • Expertise in a variety of data management software (e.g., Excel, Access, REDCap, SQL, Python,R, STATA & SAS) and data management processes
  • Capable of working effectively in research groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in research or healthcare
  • Experience conducting research with diverse populations
