Position Summary
The Part Time Research Assistant will be responsible for carrying out research under the supervisor's direction in a research lab that is focused on cancer biology, specifically on Urological cancer.
Responsibilities
- Basic molecular biology experiments (eg., cloning, RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry)
- Maintenance of mouse lines and handling of mice
- Immunostaining and image acquisition
- Communication with scientific collaborators
- Compile and present results in a brief and efficient approach.
- Ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies
- Lab management as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques required
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer skills including Word/Excel
- Proficiency molecular biological experiments
- Experience in mouse husbandry and handling of mouse tissue
