Financial Assistant New York The Department of Mathematics is a world-class center of discovery, collaboration, and innovation in the mathematical sciences. Undergraduate Coordinator New York Reporting to the Director of Administration and Finance (DAAF), the Undergraduate Coordinator provides administrative, clerical, and student-facing support to the department, the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS), and the Committee on Undergraduate Education (CUE), and acts as the primary administrative contact for over 200 undergraduate students The Department of English and Comparative Literature is a large, complex, and diverse department with 45 full-time faculty members; nearly 200 PhD and MA students; 200 undergraduate majors; and roughly 90 lecturers and adjuncts. The department is the appointment home and financial routing house for several highly active programs and centers, including the University Writing Program, the Writing Center, the Columbia Core, the Creative Writing Academy, the Center for Jazz Studies, and Theater and Performance. The department’s faculty and graduate students regularly teach Literature, Humanities, and Contemporary Civilization. The research faculty is highly active, and they originate and develop a range of activities related to the public humanities. In many areas, we lead the field in showing the centrality of literary arts and methods as an engaged form of scholarly and public practice.
Director of Operations, NSCORE New York Reporting to the Executive Director of the National Synthesis Center for Organismal Resilience (NSCORE), the Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for a federally funded research center by directing all aspects of administration, including financial management, grant administration, human resources, operations, communications, academic governance, and institutional partnerships. Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent oversees a $2–5+ million annual operating budget, supervises administrative staff, ensures compliance with federal and University policies, supports executive leadership and governance activities, and leads special initiatives that advance the Center’s research, education, outreach, and broader impact objectives. The Director serves as the primary administrative liaison among faculty, University offices, funding agencies, and external partners, ensuring effective resource coordination, operational excellence, and successful execution of the Center’s strategic priorities.
Research Staff Assistant New York The Barnhart Lab conducts research to define the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neuronal homeostasis. The Research Staff Assistant, reporting to the Principal Investigator, will use Drosophila genetics, in vivo microscopy, and quantitative image analysis to study mitochondrial homeostasis in neurons in vivo. This role is subject to grant funding.

The incumbent will serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, students, and visitors and support departmental operations, events, communications, facilities, and academic programming. The Administrative Assistant works closely with the DAAF and departmental teams to ensure efficient day-to-day operations across both departments. The Department of Philosophy has a long-standing commitment to rigorous inquiry, critical analysis, and the study of fundamental questions concerning knowledge, ethics, logic, mind, language, politics, and the history of philosophy. Financial Assistant New York The Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies (MESAAS) is a leading center for the study of the culture, history, and politics of the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa. Our faculty of distinguished scholars and outstanding teachers represents some of the most innovative and influential figures in their fields. Our approach to learning stresses a knowledge of languages and intellectual traditions, but the subjects we explore cover a range of fields from literature and the history of ideas to contemporary history and politics. Reporting to the Director of Academic Administration and Finance (DAAF), the Financial Assistant provides administrative and finance support for the department.
Undergraduate Program Manager New York Reporting to the Director of Academic Administration and Finance (DAAF) and working closely with the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) and the Department Chair, the Undergraduate Program Manager oversees the day-to-day administration and coordination of the Department’s undergraduate program, one of the largest programs within the Arts and Sciences division. The role manages program operations, student advising coordination, communications, and academic and co-curricular initiatives that support student success and program quality. The incumbent works closely with faculty, students, and university offices to ensure effective program delivery, consistent application of academic policies, and a positive student experience.
Executive Director, Grant Administration New York Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Finance, the Executive Director of Grant Administration will establish an administrative center of excellence to lead, coordinate, and execute research development activities across the Arts and Sciences at Columbia University. With a primary focus on pre-award functions, the ED will ensure comprehensive support for faculty and researchers in securing external funding for their work. The ED will lead the identification and pursuit of funding opportunities, focusing on large-scale, multi-disciplinary initiatives that advance A&S priorities. This includes collaborating with faculty to develop competitive grant proposals, providing expert guidance on crafting narratives, and ensuring alignment with funding agency requirements. The ED will oversee the preparation of detailed budgets and facilitate the integration of complex institutional resources into grant submissions.
