Position Summary

The Department of Physics in Arts and Sciences at Columbia University is a world-class research and teaching center dedicated to advancing fundamental understanding across diverse domains of physics. The VHO Research Associate is a part-time position that provides occasional administrative support for ongoing research projects. It involves assisting with project-related email correspondence, tracking project deadlines, and transcribing or formatting academic research papers as needed.

This role is contingent on continuous funding. 


Responsibilities

  • Responding to project-related emails and organizing correspondence to ensure timely communication.
  • Transcribing, proofreading, and formatting academic research papers.
  • Organizing and maintaining research files.
  • Providing general administrative support to help keep research activities on schedule to meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent related experience required
  • 0-2 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with academic writing or research is helpful but not required.
