The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Facilities, IT and Operations (AD), the Operations Coordinator maintains the upkeep of all University Life spaces and provides support to the AD on all day-to-day operational needs of the division.


Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the AD, supports the upkeep of all University Life spaces (Philosophy Hall, Kent Hall, Watson Hall, Earl Hall, St. Paul's Chapel and 3078 Broadway), including, but not limited to: building walkthroughs, noting items to be fixed/addressed, etc.
  • Supports the AD and Executive Director (ED) on project-related tasks, including walkthroughs, note taking, organizing meetings, client rep outreach, etc. 
  • Supervises and trains operations officers and student associates and ensures that their shift responsibilities are completed on a daily basis. Training includes building/space management and A/V setup and breakdown for assigned meetings and events.
  • Supports the AD on tech services provided to the division, including basic IT functions (including troubleshooting with CUIT when necessary), A/V support for meetings and events, etc.
  • Collects and processes daily shift reports from the student associates, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Supports both departmental and student group programs and events as a building manager.
  • Attends and participates in weekly operations team meetings.
  • Works closely with the AD to set operational and task-driven goals for operations officers and associates to meet each week and monitor their progress.
  • Completes half-hour rounds during shifts to ensure safety and facility issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Supports the daily opening and closing of the Earl Hall building and St. Paul’s Chapel and all other University Life spaces as required.
  • Provides administrative support to the Operations team as needed. 
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of student logs, complaints, facility issues, incident reports, etc., and escalates to AD’s attention.
  • Serve as back up to the AD in his/her absence, including supervision of the operations officers.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent in experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Computer literacy including MS Office, and Google Suite required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple competing priorities and projects.
  • Ability to be steady and sensitive in highly emotional situations.
  • Must consistently exercise discretion and excellent judgment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours. Evening, weekend, holiday and on-call hours may be required. While we aim to have a set schedule as often as possible, the nature of this position may require variable hours day-to-day or week-to-week.
  • Respect for services in houses of worship is essential.
  • Student candidates must be and remain in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University
