Position Summary
The Variable Hours Officer – Registered Nurse will function in the setting of the Vascular Surgery Division and manage pre- and post-operative patients. The incumbent will be responsible for providing clinical care services; including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients. Works closely with other clinicians in a team approach to patient care.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the initiation of the patient's history and physical, development and implementation of a pre- and post-op education program in conjunction with the medical team. The incumbent will support on-going clinical functions of the Vascular Surgery Service by providing compassionate patient centered care and ongoing quality improvement within the division. The VHO-RN will be responsible for the case management of patients including coordination of evaluation of diagnostic testing, reviewing lab reports, and supervising direct patient care. The VHO-RN will be a responsible and partner in the day to day management of patients and the vision of the Vascular Surgery Program.
