The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Variable Hour Officer (VHO) will work as a Research Coordinator under Dr. Winawer’s supervision. Candidate will screen epilepsy patient medical records and surgical schedules to identify potentially eligible patients and obtain informed consent.  The VHO will also manage Dr. Winawer’s IRB approved Long COVID Neurology registry database.


Responsibilities

The Variable Hours Officer will be responsible for

  • Contact potential participants via IRB approved protocols to obtain consent and explain the nature of the project prior to surgery.
  • Coordinate timing of tissue collection from scheduled surgeries at CUMC.
  • Track brain tissue samples from participating sites for sequencing analyses.
  • Coordinate research imaging for CUMC participants and provision of images from all participating sites.
  • Create and maintain study databases and provide weekly reports and summaries to Dr. Winawer.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Human subjects research experience. 
  • Experience with databases.
