Position Summary
The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with experience supporting daily laboratory operations. The Technician B will work closely with established investigators within HICCC and will participate in both in vitro (2D and 3D cell and organoid culture) and in vivo (mouse model) research.
The role involves conducting functional studies to investigate cellular pathways altered by genomic changes and the tumor microenvironment in cancer and metastasis, with the goal of identifying potential therapeutic strategies. The primary areas of focus include gastrointestinal and breast cancers.
Responsibilities
- Perform tissue culture and basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry).
- Conduct murine modeling experiments.
- Execute established cellular assays using genetic and chemical perturbation approaches.
- Present experimental findings both orally and in writing; actively participate in team meetings and scientific discussions.
- Contribute to scientific publications and attend relevant conferences.
- Review scientific literature regularly to maintain subject matter expertise.
- Ensure adherence to study protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH guidelines, and applicable regulatory and ethical standards.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, engineering, chemistry, physics, math, computer sciences, or related fields or equivalent in education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques preferred.
- One year of related experience preferred.

- Understanding of biohazard safety and handling procedures.
