The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Technician B will assist with cardiopulmonary stress testing of clinical inpatients and outpatients diagnosed with heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, congenital heart disease, and other cardiovascular disorders.
Responsibilities
- Assist with gas exchange collection from the metabolic cart, ECG recording, blood pressure measurements, and oxygen saturation.
- Assist in compiling and synthesizing data gleaned from tests.
- The incumbent will help to gather patient history information through the use of EMR.
- Assist with the calibration of the metabolic cart, setting up the exercise protocol, placing ECG electrode on patients, and monitoring the gas exchange during exercise.
- After the test, the technician will assist in preparing the data for the lab director to analyze.
- The technician will assist with maintaining and managing the databases.
- S/he will assist in maintaining the lab, maintaining testing equipment, and ordering supplies.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with the manaqement of metabolic cart.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity in database design and statistical analysis a plus.
Other Requirements
- The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.

- Must complete applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
