The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Under the supervision of the PI, the Technician A will provide basic research support and perform a wide variety of procedures pertaining to characterization of different knock-out and transgenic models of cancer and metabolic diseases.


Responsibilities

  • Perform extensive mouse breeding
  • Perform phenotyping and genotyping
  • Maintain laboratory records
  • Order lab supplies and maintain lab equipment
  • Assist with lab meetings and related communication
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program
  • One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm for scientific research 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Animal handling experience
  • Familiarity with DNA extraction and PCR

Other Requirements

  • The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
  • Participation in the medical surveillance program
    • Work with laboratory animals
  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
