Position Summary
The Systems Administrator will provide technical support to administer CIESIN computing resources in a hybrid infrastructure consisting of a virtual environment on premise and cloud technologies such as AWS, Google, or Azure. Assist with automating workloads and deliver hybrid solutions with any cloud provider. Maintain existing on premise technologies.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or its equivalent required.
Minimum 3 years of related experience with computing technologies in a modern data center or IT department.
Minimum 1-year experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies and / or cloud technologies.
Minimum 1-year experience in systems administration of UNIX / Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems.
Good understanding of basic computer and network security.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies as they develop.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work independently and efficiently within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Ability to work with changing priorities and multiple projects.
Precision and attention to detail are essential.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Willingness to work outside of normal business hours on occasion.
Preferred Qualifications
MS in computer science or related field.
Proficiency in virtualization technologies.
Proficiency in cloud technologies, especially AWS.
Skills in cybersecurity.
Familiarity with data science and AI / ML technologies.
Intrinsic motivation and ability to learn on the job.
