    Position Summary

    The Department of Surgery is looking for a Student Research Worker (CU Student). Incumbent will perform multiple assignments under direct supervision.


    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with our engineer to design and model components using CAD software.
    • Research and utilize optical pathways to direct light from the light cord onto the surgical field.
    • Conduct research and development to compare the intensity and illumination of our device with current surgical headlights.
    • Conduct research on thevideo recording devices to seamlessly integrate into the surgical workflow. 
    • Contribute to the software development for embedded systems and explore cloud storage solutions for video recordings.
    • Ensure compatibility of the device with standard sterilization processes.
    • Support the compliance with regulatory standards and certifications.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High School graduate or equivalency certificate.
    • Technical training or equivalency, and 6 months of related laboratory experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in CAD software for product design and modeling.
    • Basic knowledge of software development for embedded systems.
    • Familiarity with cloud storage solutions for video recording.
    • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering.

    Other Requirements

    • Background in Physics or Optics is required.
