The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
ISSO seeks a team of enthusiastic students to assist with promotion and support of all ISSO programming initiatives offered to the Columbia University international community. This position reports to the Associate Director of International Student Programs, but works closely with the entire ISSO Programming Team.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the ISSO Programming team to effectively promote and execute programs
- Attend and work assigned programs and events throughout the semester, which includes arriving early for set-up and check-in, providing support all throughout, and remaining until the end
- Co-present and facilitate various sessions, interactions, and programs for the international student community
- Represent ISSO and the Events and Outreach Team in a professional manner in all in-person and online contexts
- Create promotional and recap content related to various ISSO programs for use on social media platforms
- Identify and promote positive interaction and engagement opportunities for, with, and among the CU international student community
- Additional job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled Columbia student who has completed at least one semester
- Strong interest in international students’ programming and development
- Knowledge of the Columbia campus, its administrative offices and academic departments
- Detailed-oriented and ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in the use of Instagram and/or LinkedIn and willingness to have a social media presence with ISSO
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive written and verbal information
- International study experience and second language is preferred
