Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Degree Marketing, Degree Programs, and working closely with the Sr. Associate Dean of Enrollment Management, the Senior Associate Director, Degree Marketing & Analytics plays a pivotal technical and analytical role at Columbia Business School. The Senior Associate Director oversees enrollment data reporting and data strategy and contributes to achieving enrollment goals by helping to attract and admit a high-caliber, diverse student body that reflects the School’s values and academic standards.  

In this role, the Senior Associate Director serves as the primary steward of enrollment data infrastructure and analytics at CBS, owning the design and maintenance of reporting systems, dashboards, and attribution frameworks that inform recruitment and yield strategy across all degree programs. The ideal candidate brings a strong command of CRM platforms and data tools, a sharp instinct for translating complex data into actionable insight, and the ability to work fluidly across a matrixed organization with senior stakeholders, admissions leadership, and technical teams alike.

Responsibilities

Enrollment Data Analysis 

  • Conducts ongoing statistical analysis and provides summaries of enrollment data for: full-time MBA; Executive MBA; specialized masters; PhD; Dual MBA/Executive MS: Engineering & Applied Science (joint with Columbia Engineering); JD/MBA (joint with Columbia Law); deferred enrollment; and future degree programs of Columbia Business School.  
  • Analyzes historical applicant data, market trends, and top-of-funnel inquiry density to identify and recommend high-yield domestic and international recruitment markets 
  • Evaluates the end-to-end enrollment funnel by defining and tracking lead quality metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and ensuring a consistent pipeline of highly qualified candidates from initial inquiry through application submission. 
  • Audits lead-generation sources and advertising campaigns to assess full-funnel attribution accuracy and surface optimization opportunities. 

Recruitment & Yield Support 

  • Develops and maintains lead scoring logic to prioritize high-intent prospects; provides year-over-year analysis of the lead and prospect pool across current and future programs. 
  • Partners with the Slate team on data-related reporting, communications, portals, and querying. Establishes and maintains tracking protocols, including UTMs and Source codes, to measure paid advertising return on investment and enrollment attribution. 
  • Analyzes email engagement metrics to generate actionable insights on content performance, A/B testing, and yield effectiveness  
  • Creates and audits Slate dashboards and views to monitor funnel health and campaign effectiveness in real-time. 
  • Leverages engagement metrics, tracking systems, CRM data, and assessment tools to evaluate recruitment activity, prospect participation, and enrollment outcomes across the degree portfolio, translating findings into actionable recommendations for the team. 
  • Supports the Admissions Director of Recruitment & Yield in developing a comprehensive recruitment and communication strategy through top-of-funnel and enrollment data analysis across degree programs.

Team Collaboration & Operational Coordination 

  • Partners with Enrollment Management senior leadership, including Assistant Dean of Admissions, Assistant Dean of Engagement, Assistant Dean of Financial Aid, and Senior Associate Director of Enrollment Management Systems, and their respective teams to align on data strategy and reporting needs across the enrollment function. 
  • Collaborates with cross-functional CBS administrative departments regarding enrollment data, including, and not limited to, Dean’s Office, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Office of Records and Registration (OARR), Career Management Center (CMC), Development & Alumni Relations (DAR), and Executive Education. 

Other Duties 

  • Facilitates the secure exchange of data and sensitive information with internal teams and external vendors in compliance with applicable policies 
  • Performs other relevant responsibilities as assigned to support Enrollment Management goals and operational needs. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. A minimum of 4 years of related experience is required. Experience in network marketing and/or client management is valuable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace
  • Experience with CRM platforms and enrollment or marketing analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, maintain, and audit data dashboards and reporting systems, and work effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; able to work independently with competing priorities. 
  • Discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive data; availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or MBA strongly preferred
  • Experience with Slate CRM (dashboard, portals, querying, Liquid Markup, HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript in a CRM or marketing automation context. 
  • Familiarity with UTM/source tracking and paid media attribution
  • Background in enrollment management, graduate admissions, or higher education marketing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, interpersonal, written, and oral communication, and computer skills required, including advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and/or Google Slides, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Slate, Liquid Markup, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript abilities preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills and creative problem solver with experience in assessing and translating business needs into relevant solutions.
  • Extreme attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with non-technical colleagues. Candidate must possess strong skills in diplomacy, tact, and discretion.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and multiple responsibilities is an asset.
  • Must be available to work occasional weekends and evenings.
