The El-Shamayleh lab at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Institute is seeking a full-time Research Technician to participate in developing viral vector tools for studying neural signal processing in the visual cortex. Under supervision of the PI and/or more senior lab members, the research technician will participate in viral vector production and assist in various projects in the lab. Candidates with a strong academic background and research experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply: molecular biology (DNA purification, cloning, PCR, etc), cell culture, histology, and microscopy. Additionally, the position will involve routine lab management, such as ordering supplies and maintenance of equipment. A commitment of at least 2 years is preferred. This role is grant funded.
