Position Summary

The Center for Early Relational Health (CERH) at Columbia University, which is expanding nationally and emphasizing the importance of human connectedness, is seeking a Research Coordinator. This role within the CERH research team is crucial to our mission of advancing scientific understanding of human connectedness, including aspects such as neurodevelopment, growth, maternal cognitive function, socioemotional function, and more. Under the supervision of senior researchers, the Research Coordinator will be actively involved in conducting experiments, collecting data, and assisting with the coordination of research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes the start-up of studies, including preparation and submission of protocols to the IRB and training of study research interns and personnel.
  • Monitors the progress of research activities; develops and maintains records of research activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies.
  • Organizes study meetings and study-related processes.
  • Ensures compliance with the University's required certifications in Human Research Protection and HIPAA regulations.
  • Enrolls patients and obtains informed consent.
  • Confers with study patients to explain the purpose of the research study and diagnostic procedures.
  • Completes patient follow-up, as appropriate.
  • Collects pertinent information and data from subject charts and records, subject interviews, and other sources.
  • Communicated regularly with the research team and responds to all correspondences in a timely manner.
  • Completes required training and Quality Assurance/Quality Control tasks.
  • Perform related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of related experience.
