Position Summary
The Research Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting participants and administering informed consent to enroll them in the study. They will be responsible for online data collection and data management using REDCap and the local participant database, will oversee data quality assurance and control, and will produce weekly and monthly reports indicating progress. They will participate in weekly and monthly team meetings with research coordinators from other institutions to report progress and develop best practices for the overall study.
They also will assist with following up on all newly reported breast and ovarian cancers with hospitals to obtain pathology reports and tissue samples for review, and will contribute to retention of the cohort through annual mailings and contact and through the development of online resources and informational webinars for study participants. They will assist with tracing participants that are potentially lost to follow up and updating vital status. Additionally, they will assist with epidemiologic data analyses and contribute to manuscript preparation and presentation of materials for conferences and lectures.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s graduate with at least three years of experience or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in public health or related discipline. Experience conducting longitudinal data collection and working directly with research participants is preferred. Experience with data management and analysis software such as SAS, STATA or R is preferred but not required.
The successful candidate must possess computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft programs such as Access, Excel and Powerpoint, with excellent data management skills. They must possess a high level of initiative, be detail-oriented, with excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality at all times.
