    Position Summary

    The Department of Systems Biology, Korem Lab, is seeking a full-time, temporary Research Associate to join its team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focused on understanding complex biological systems. The focus of this role s on developing methodology for inference of mutations in microbiome data and requires expertise in Bayesian inference. The Research Associate will support day-to-day lab operations, assist with experimental workflows, and help maintain the high standards of organization and quality that drive the lab's scientific mission. 


    Responsibilities

    • Conduct computational and statistical research focused on the inference of mutational signatures in microbiome sequencing data, with an emphasis on identifying environmental exposures associated with prematurity. 
    • Apply Bayesian inference methods and probabilistic modeling techniques to analyze large-scale, high-dimensional biological datasets.
    • Develop, document, and maintain reproducible, well-tested code and workflows suitable for dissemination to the broader academic and scientific community.
    • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications by drafting methods, results, and supporting materials as needed. 
    • Collaborate closely with principal investigator, postdocs, and other lab members to integrate computational methods with experimental and clinical data.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the lab's research mission and operational needs.
