Position Summary
The UEIL is looking for a Research Assistant (RA)/Technician for a one-year grant-funded position. The RA will be responsible for various technical tasks in the laboratory, including maintaining breeding colonies, conducting behavioral assays, perfusions, tissue processing for immunohistochemistry and microscopy, and preparing samples for qPCR, RNAseq, spatial sequencing, histochemical, and biochemical assays. Additional responsibilities include checking and maintaining lab stocks and solutions, staying current with regulatory trainings, and providing general lab support. We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong background in neuroscience or molecular biology and a proven track record of working with small animals in a laboratory setting.
This position offers potential for growth and opportunities, making it ideal for recent graduates interested in pursuing further studies or medical professions. Led by Dr. Konofagou, the Department of Biomedical Engineering's UEIL is a translational science lab focused on using ultrasound for real-time imaging and as a theranostic tool in treating neurodegenerative disorders. The role involves assisting with studies using focused ultrasound for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders and providing support to other groups as needed.
