Position Summary
The Research Assistant will work in the Columbia Center for Children’s Environmental Health (CCCEH) in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, at the Mailman School of Public Health. The RA will be expected to help run participant visits from the Fair Start and Sibling Cohorts as part of two federally funded research grants. The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of environmental exposures on women and their children in Northern Manhattan and South Bronx. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative and research tasks, including consenting study participants, scheduling, arranging transportation, interviewing participants, administering psychological and psychodiagnostics assessments, administering psychological, behavioral, and environmental rating scales. In particular, candidate will be conducting diagnostic clinical interviews with mothers/caregivers. Candidate will also be responsible for processing, storing, checking data and transferring data to the Center’s data management core and/or laboratory.
The candidate will assist with human subjects research and administrative duties as needed to maintain a caseload of research participants enrolled in a longitudinal birth cohort.
