Position Summary
The Psychologist serves as a core clinician within Columbia University's Counseling & Psychological Services (CPS), providing comprehensive mental health care to the diverse student population. This role encompasses the full spectrum of psychological services, including individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessment, crisis intervention, and case management for students presenting with a wide range of concerns, from developmental and adjustment challenges to serious psychopathology.
In addition to direct clinical responsibilities, the Psychologist actively contributes to the broader Columbia community through outreach initiatives, consultation with campus stakeholders, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams within Columbia Health.
Depending on clinical expertise, the role may include specialized responsibilities in areas such as eating disorders, trauma-informed care, substance use, LGBTQ+ issues, multicultural counseling, and support for specific student populations including international students, veterans, and first-generation students. The Psychologist may also contribute to the training and professional development of psychology fellows.
This is an essential onsite role requiring some evening hours and on-call duties; limited hybrid flexibility may be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
