The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Department of Neurology is currently looking for an experienced and energetic Full-time Practice Coordinator. The Practice Coordinator will maintain quality of operations and report to the Practice Manager. Will provide our medical practice with administrative support, assist with the day-to-day practice operations ensuring the highest level of customer service delivery, practice, support, and patient confidentiality. This position does require flexibility in shift hours and traveling off site.


Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in the day-to-day administration of the department. 
  • Ensure timely and smooth patient flow, monitor physician schedules in EPIC.
  • Review weekly schedules and adjust the schedules as needed.
  • Confirm patient appointments, ensure providers schedules are at full capacity. 
  • Assisting Practice Manager with opening provider schedules on EPIC.
  • Answer telephones, route callers, take messages and provide routine information to callers in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Schedule patient appointments, prioritizing new patients with the nurse navigator.
  • Obtain medical records from external facilities.
  • Verify insurance coverage, pre-certify/authorize patient visits and procedures as needed.
  • Assist with coordination of care for the patient.
  • Sorting and distributing the division’s mail to respective recipients.
  • Monitoring Telemed messages during business hours.
  • Perform financial transactions and related functions when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.

Other Requirements

  • Manage time appropriately to meet patient and department needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
