Position Summary

The Department of Neurology is seeking a Practice Coordinator. This position supports the Practice Manager in overseeing daily administrative operations across multiple divisions, including Front Desk, IV Team, Medical Records, Financial Counseling, Botox, and Neuropsychology. This role ensures staff compliance with organizational policies, performance standards, and assigned duties while maintaining efficient workflows and cross-team coverage. The position assists with staff supervision, team development, and resolution of escalated patient and staff concerns. Responsibilities also include provider credentialing to ensure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. Additionally, the position monitors operational processes and work queues, ensuring timely follow-up, accurate documentation, and serves as a liaison between departments, divisions, providers, payers, and external agencies.

 


Responsibilities

  • Supports the Practice Manager in daily operations and supervision of administrative teams, including Front Desk, Insurance Verification, Medical Records, Botox, and Neuropsychology.
  • Ensures staff compliance with policies, assigned duties, and performance standards while maintaining cross-team coverage.
  • Reviews and assists in resolving escalated patient and staff concerns in collaboration with the Practice Manager,
  • Assists with staff evaluations and supports team development and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Manages and completes departmental credentialing tasks to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and compliant information, including licensure, terminations, and payer requirements.
  • Monitors and manages Neurology billing workqueues to ensure accurate charge processing and timely follow-up.
  • Assists divisions with billing-related inquiries and works to resolve issues as needed.
  • Verifies insurance eligibility, benefits, and precertification requirements, ensuring patient insurance information remains current.
  • Obtains PCP referrals and insurance authorizations for procedures and medications.
  • Provides patients with cost estimates prior to services and supports patients with financial assistance programs, payment arrangements, and applications, including Medicaid.
  • Collaborates with FPO/CRO providers, departments, revenue cycle teams, third-party agencies, payers, patients, and external physician offices to ensure accurate coordination of services.
  • Serves as a resource to departments for documentation and information necessary for billing and account processing.
  • Maintains professional, confidential communication with patients and families while addressing inquiries and concerns.
  • Identifies workflow issues, supports process improvements, and assists with documentation and account resolution to prevent delays.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
