Position Summary

Reporting to the Building Superintendent, under general direction, the Porter/Door Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of CU apartment buildings and grounds area.


Responsibilities

  • He/she cleans and maintains building and grounds complex: elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, vacant apartments, etc.; trims trees and shrubs; fertilizes, seeds and mows lawn; sweeps and hoses sidewalks; removes snow and spreads salt as needed.
  • In addition, the Porter/Door Attendant will screen persons entering the building, announce visitors and assure building security.
  • Lobby must be kept clean and neat at all times.
  • All incoming and out going packages will be handled by this employee.
  • Neat appearance and excellent command of the English language are extremely important.
  • Heavy lifting may be required.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or its equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance a plus.
