Position Summary
The Integrated Women’s Health Division in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Columbia University is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic program. The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) will assist in providing compassionate, patient-centered care for women who seek routine gynecologic care. The Nurse Practitioner will also see patients both independently to develop a panel and in collaboration with other physicians in the practice. This position will be responsible for overseeing patient care in a fast-paced outpatient clinical setting and will be based out of our locations in Midtown and Westchester .
The Nurse Practitioner will complete patient intakes, including obtaining all pertinent demographic and clinical information from referring physicians and/or patients; providing patients with appropriate reference and resource materials; and meeting and orienting new patients. The position will responsible for assisting attending physicians with office visits and procedures for all patients as needed. Possible tasks may include but are not limited to the following: prescription call-in/refill, administer vaccines/medications, IUD and implant insertions/removals, calling patients with results, and provide care when an attending physician is unavailable.
