The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Medical Director of the Electrophysiology Services, the Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for the assessment and management of patients in the Electrophysiology unit. This will include diagnostic and therapeutic interventions under a medical collaborative agreement.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical histories and evaluations.
- Coordinate pre-operative care and telephone triage of patient care in the outpatient EP practice.
- Serve as a liaison between lab attending physicians and referring physicians to ensure timely follow-up.
- In consultation with attending physicians, discharge patient from the floor in the morning after EP procedures.
- Under the supervision of attending physicians, responsible for inpatient assessment and inpatient ICD/Pacemaker interrogations.
- Responsible for device management as needed for both the procedural/OR and Radiology/MRI departments.
- Assist in the Electrophysiology clinic at the Heart Center.
- Perform in-person device checks and remote follow-up.
- Manage remote implantable cardiac monitoring services for implantable loop recorders.
- Serve as staff educator for in-services, as needed.
- Provide support to the EP CN III and serve as an assistant coordinator for day-to-day lab activities.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent in education and experience, plus one to two years of experience.
- Current New York State NP and RN licenses.
- Current NP Board certification.
- Must be eligible for ANCC Board Certification.
- Must be eligible for DEA certification.
- Must be eligible for American Heart Association (AHA) BCLS.
- Recent experience in Electrophysiology required.
- Excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Cardiology preferred.

- Participation in the Medical Surveillance Program:
- Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
- Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
- Wear N-95 respirator
- Must successfully complete applicable compliance and systems training requirements
