Position Summary
The Short-term Casual will work at the Taub Institute and Sergievsky Center in an intergenerational study of memory and Alzheimer’s disease.
Responsibilities
The Short-term Casual will perform telephone recruitment and in-person and remote assessment procedures of participants in a community-based intergenerational study of memory. He/she will be responsible for facilitating all aspects of participant visits. The incumbent will be certified to assess capacity to consent and obtain informed consent in this minimal risk study following Institutional Review Board policies and regulations. The incumbent will perform remote and in-person interviews in the homes of study participants and at Columbia University Medical Center, which will include administering standardized interviews of medical and family history, every-day functioning, neuropsychological testing, and blood collection. Data management duties include and are not limited to completing medical questionnaires, scoring, organizing, filing, data entry and cleaning, photocopying materials and preparing biological samples. Other duties pertain to data processing and quality control. For example, the staff associate will be trained and certified on standard administration by observing other research staff, and obtaining consent, performing interviews, and administering questionnaires in the field under supervision. They will schedule and re-schedule study visits, will escort participants to/from their home, and perform any other assigned duties.
This work will take place under the supervision of the Project Manager and senior interviewers.
