Position Summary

The Department of Radiology under the guidance of Dr Sachin Jambawalikar seeks a Short-Term Casual Student Research Worker to support an ongoing AI-driven medical imaging research project focused on detection of intra-abdominal adhesions on CT scans. This role continues work initiated during the student’s graduate training and is expected to span 2-4 months.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis of planned medical images
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility of analysis results.
  • Curate, preprocess, and quality-control abdominal CT datasets
  • Support radiologist-led annotation workflows
  • Develop ML/DL pipelines for adhesion detection
  • Perform validation, statistical analysis, and visualization
  • Maintain reproducible research documentation
  • Contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of research goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College graduate or equivalency in education and experience, and some related laboratory experience, usually six months.


Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in Data Science Institute or related field


Other Requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Python and data analysis tools
  • Working knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail and proactive follow-through of assigned projects
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communication
