Position Summary

The Short Term Casual (non-student) will help with the analysis of data in support of scientific research projects related to translational science research in kidney development, kidney injury and regeneration. This position will support the department by providing a Short Term Casual (non-student) the opportunity to work in the division of Neonatology to support the research of Pamela Good, MD. 


Responsibilities

  • Interacts with the principal investigator, laboratory members (students, postdoctoral fellows, technicians, and others) to plan research projects. 
  • Maintain databases and perform statistical analysis of data. 
  • Assists in orientation and training of new investigators, fellows, visiting trainees, and others as needed. Monitors compliance with safety rules in the lab under supervision of PIs. Maintains compliance with mandated training modules 
  • Attends monthly laboratory meetings and other training programs in other collaborating laboratories as needed.  
  • Mouse tissue harvesting, kidney histology and immunostaining. Image analysis is requested as well.  
  • May contribute to publications and research presentations.  
  • Other research related responsibilities in accordance with research project requirements. 
  • Work will be performed in a laboratory setting and remotely via online meetings. 
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalency required.

Other Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a basic, translational or clinical research setting is desired. 
  • Relevant coursework from undergraduate studies (Biology, statistics) .
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required. Basic knowledge of Image J or equivalent image analysis software is recommended.  
  • Motivated and enthusiastic team player with strong organizational skills is desired. Strong oral and written communication skills are preferred.
