Position Summary

The MA Program Coordinator will report to the MA Program Director and the MA Program Associate Director. The incumbent will provide day-to-day and overall support for Program which includes assisting with academic and student affairs, communications, event planning, and program operations.
Responsibilities
Academic & Student Affairs
Work closely with the MA Program Director and Associate Director to coordinate admissions and registration activities; hold advising meetings with students; provide guidance on program and university policies; help students navigate university resources (e.g. visa issues, housing concerns, etc.); assist in maintaining and auditing student records to ensure compliance with degree requirements; assist with student onboarding activities, including admissions outreach and orientation; coordinate with the Master of Economics Student Association (MESA); monitor and respond to emails, and escalate urgent issues to the Associate Director.
Career Services Support
Conduct mock interviews and offer feedback on student resumes; maintain the MA Program resume book and job/internship bank; collect and analyze employment data; maintain the alumni career placement database; coordinate career development workshops.
Communications
Develop and distribute periodic communications, including regular MA Program newsletters and MA alumni spotlights; oversee social media outreach efforts; regularly maintain and update the MA Program information on the department website; maintain student and alumni listservs.
Event Planning
Coordinate program events, including catering, room reservations, and RSVP management; support MESA’s event planning efforts.
Operations
Handle program purchases and reconcile expenses monthly; support the hiring and onboarding of MA students as Teaching Assistants; handle room reservations for MA program needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience required.
Two years of related experience.
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to interact professionally, effectively, and responsibly with a diverse population of students, faculty, and other stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Resourcefulness, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
Positive, service-oriented, and forward-thinking attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an academic environment.
Experience in student advising, particularly with international students.
Familiarity with student database applications.
