Position Summary
The Grants Manager will be responsible for managing an independent research portfolio of senior faculty members with a wide range of complex research projects. The main responsibilities will include pre and post award management, with emphasis on grant submissions as well as financial reconciliation, planning and projection across the assigned accounts in accordance with departmental processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, sponsor and institutional regulations such as attestations, effort certifications, salary allocations, cost transfer requirements, etc. The Grant Manager will act as a mentor for junior research administrators and financial analysts, providing training on grant management best practices, as well as guiding the junior team members in relationship building with liaising departments.
Responsibilities
Pre-Award management – 75%
Post award – 10%
Mentoring and Management – 5%
Reporting and record keeping – 5%
Other tasks as assigned – 5%
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of accounting and grants management best practices is required
Advanced knowledge of sponsors and sponsor requirements is preferred.
Familiarity with Columbia Systems preferred.
